The club is entirely run by a small dedicated group of volunteers. We are pleased to accept an offer of help from any adult (subject to the completion of a DBS check) at any time.

All of our volunteers have signed up to Swim England's code of ethics, and everyone with direct access to the swimmers has completed and passed a DBS check (Disclosure & Barring Service) and an appropriate 'Safeguarding and Protecting Children' course.

We have many different jobs to do, from teaching a session to completing the register on a training night. If you feel that you could give some time each week to help to run the club, please approach our head coach Darren or any of the existing volunteers.

Please note that all adults assisting the club are unpaid volunteers, but the club is committed to assisting its volunteers in gaining any necessary training or experience required to properly fulfill their role.

We have a couple of requirements for specific roles to ensure the smooth running of the club:

The club asks that if a volunteer wishes to leave their role, they give the club as much notice as possible. At minimum, this should be three months for a teachers role or similar, or six months for an executive member post. During this time a replacement will be selected from the available volunteers, or the club will attempt to enlist a suitable volunteer. The new volunteer should work-shadow the existing person to learn the role. Any required training course(s) will also be completed within this time. Other volunteers may take on the responsibilities of the role in the interim.
