We are Boldon CA Swimming Club! We provide swimming lessons, skill development, training sessions and competitive opportunities for all of the younger members of our community from all areas of South Tyneside (including Boldon Colliery, West Boldon, East Boldon, South Shields, Jarrow, Cleadon and Whitburn) and beyond (with some people coming to us from a lot further away).

Our club was founded in 1978 with the basic idea of making swimming ‘open to all’ of the younger members of our local community. Over 45 years later we’re still going strong, with our team of dedicated volunteers providing quality lessons and training sessions to about 180 members.

If you have a swimmer age 5 or over and are interested in them joining our club, find out how on the Join us page or get more information from the About us section.

Monday 29th

Our junior gala / games night will start at 6pm. Changing rooms are open from 5.45pm. All width swimmers from all sessions are invited to attend - please let us know if you're coming if you haven't yet.

Swimmers will be divided into 3 teams to compete for medals (everyone will get either a bronze, silver or gold one). They will compete in a couple of fun races / games each against the other teams in the section of the pool where they normally swim.

Please note that we can only allow one spectator per swimmer.
We expect it to finish at about 7.30pm.

Please note that the 6.30pm and 7.15pm sessions will not run this night. Darren's 8-9pm session will run as normal.

Monday 6th

This is Awards Night - there will be no swimming sessions. As long as we haven't told you otherwise, everyone in the club has an award to collect.

Width swimmers should come to the school theatre for 6pm.
Length swimmers should come to the school theatre for 7pm

We swim in the 4 lane 25m pool in Boldon School Sports Centre and the pool in Boldon Community Association. Our membership ranges from non-swimmers (age 5 and over) to the Masters League swimmers (with unlimited age range). Our main sessions run on Monday evenings when the majority of swimmers attend one of ten sessions with varying abilities. We hold additional evening teaching and training sessions on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

Our competitive members regularly swim in local and regional galas in the North East, and in some national galas around the country.

We are affiliated to Swim England and are an affiliated member of the Royal Lifesaving Society.

Our club has held Swim England's SwimMark accreditation (formerly Swim21) since 2009.
