Our club was founded in 1978 with the basic idea of making swimming ‘open to all’ of the younger members of our local community. Over 40 years later we’re still going strong, with our team of dedicated volunteers providing quality lessons and training sessions to about 180 swimmers.
We swim in the 4 lane 25m pool in Boldon School Sports Centre and the pool in Boldon Community Association. Our membership ranges from non-swimmers (age 5 and over) to the Masters League swimmers (with unlimited age range). Our main sessions run on Mondays when the majority of swimmers attend one of ten sessions with varying abilities. We hold additional teaching and training sessions on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
On Thursday 26th we'll be holding our AGM at 7pm in the school staff room. All members are welcome to attend.
There will be no swimming sessions between 7-8pm on this night. We will be running a training session afterwards (open to competitive swimmers who would normally start at 7.30pm on Thursdays).
Our competitive members regularly swim in local and regional galas in the North East, and in some national galas around the country.
Our club has held Swim England's SwimMark accreditation (formerly Swim21) since 2009.
